Maldives Immigration carried out the special operation between 16:00 and 18:00 on 9 May 2026, deploying officers in groups as part of Operation Kurangi.
According to the agency, officers visited 639 locations and checked 1,344 expatriates during the two-hour operation, which focused on expatriates without biometric data.
Immigration said 254 expatriates whose visa documentation was incomplete were brought under its supervision.
The agency also issued notices to 44 Maldivians alleged to have employed expatriates in breach of regulations. It said action may be taken under immigration law if the recipients fail to comply with the notices.
